I bought these speakers to be the rear speakers in my surround sound system.I think Sony found a good market with the entire SS line of speakers.They are affordable and look nice too. Don't expect these to have as much bass as an 8 inch speaker because you will be severely disappointed.Overall, feels good thing. Nice highs and a fair amount of lows.I just wish that they could handle more power. It seems one could very easily over power them I went with the SS-B1000 over the SS-B3000 only because I knew they would be my rear speakers and because they are smaller and lighter.I intend to put on some Speaker Stands. For their size, you can't go wrong..
